As for the breathability, our newest prototypes include vents at the foot and head ends. Before adding these vents we simply left the zipper open by ~6″ (similar to any bivy sack). The rainflap over the zipper performed well at protecting the opening. However we like the new ventilation system and plan to include it in our full production model.

I plan on using it on my AT through hike in 2014 with a friend who also wants one. The one remaining question i have is how breathable is it with the waterproof zipped up? I have not seen anywhere any ventilation points.
