Lots of a’a lava under the canopy, so hammock mode was my only option. Encountered 50-60 mph gust and driving tropical rain. The hammock was light to pack in, quick and easy to set up, wind and waterproof, comfortable, and the various ventilation options worked well. Condensation wasn’t a problem at all. The insect screen proved very useful as well. The interior mesh pocket made finding a head lamp or phone easy in the dark. A quality piece of equipment that I expect to get a years of service from. The Alpine Hammock is a quality piece of equipment which I expect to serve its purpose well for years to come, from a quality company who provided quality service and communication. Mike and Ryan have earned my respect and support. Aloha

I was a little concerned that snow would get in the vents, but problem whatsoever. If left somewhat open for some ventilation, my old bivy would has let snow blow in. Face it, at these temps, some condensation is unavoidable , unless you can hold your breath all night. this unit had much less condensation compared with my other bivys. Definitely recommend to a friend

The no-see-um proof bug netting stopped all of the little nasties. The alpine hammock was great for sleeping up in the trees and bivvying on the beach. Huge advantage over other camping hammocks that I’ve used is that you enter from the top, meaning you don’t need to set it up at ground level. Sleeping UP in the trees was awesome.

And it wasn’t even meant for the tropics, this thing is all terrain.
